Membership:

Types of Membership:

There shall be three types of members in the society:

  1. General Members
  2. Associate Members
  3. Members in Training

All members shall pay a registration fee of Rs. 100/- on initial enrolment.

 

1. General Members

This membership will open to all professionals with post graduate qualifications in the following specialities and having three years of experience after post graduation

  • E.N.T. surgery
  • Plastic Surgery
  • Maxillofacial Surgery
  • General surgery
  • Dermatology
  • Ophthalmology

Categories of membership will be available in this type.

Life membership:available to persons satisfying the above criteria and pay the sum of Rs. 1000/- as membership fees.

 

2. Associate Members 

This will be open to all professionally qualified people in allied specialties and with inertest in facial plastic surgery.

e.g.: prosthetic specialists =, orthodontists etc.

 

Two categories if membership will be available in this type Life Associate members -those who satisfy above criteria and pay a sum of Rs. 1000/- as membership fees.

Ordinary associate members –  those who satisfy the above criteria and pay a sum of Rs. 200/- as annual fees.

 

3. Members in training

This type of membership is available to those who are doing post graduate studies in their specialities of maxillofacial surgery, plastic surgery, E.N.T. surgery, Dermatology and Ophthalmology.  This also open to those who have done their post graduate training but have not yet acquired the three year experience after post graduation.

The membership fees payable for this type of membership will be Rs 150 per year.  If the amount for remaining years till they are eligible for full membership is paid lump sum the charges will be Rs. 150 for the first year and Rs.100 for subsequent years.

 

Cessation of the Membership:

The membership of any class of members will cease on the following conditions:

  • On death
  • On being lunatic of being declared as insane.
  • On not paying the membership fee of the society as stated elsewhere in bye-laws.
  • On tendering resignation.
  • On being found of immoral character.

 

Records of Members :

The society will keep a register of its members in which the following details will be recorded :

  • Name, address and occupation of each members.
  • Date of membership and the receipt no.
  • Date of cessation of the membership.

 

Privileges available to each class of members

General Members

  • They will have the right for attending the general body and voting in the election for office bearers
  • Will be eligible for being elected as office bearers.
  • Eligible for concessional tariff for seminars and conferences organized by the society whenever applicable.
  • Eligible for concessional rate for Journals published by the society at the currently available terms.

 

Associate Members

  • Eligible for concessional tariff for seminars and conferences organized by the society whenever applicable.
  • Eligible for concessional rate for Journals published by the society at the currently available terms.
  • Be in mailing list for newsletters and announcements of society activities.

 

Members in training

  • Eligible for concessional tariff for seminars and conferences organized by the society whenever applicable.
  • Eligible for concessional rate for Journals published by the society at the currently available terms.
  • Be in mailing list for newsletters and announcements of society activities.

 

The membership committee will screen the membership applications and only those cleared by the committee will be accorded membership.  Thos who remain defaulters for more than three years in succession will be removed from the membership and if they wish to rejoin it will be possible only as life members in the appropriate category.
